Powerhouse's CEO's, (musician/entertainment attorney/entrepreneur) John Robertson, vision coupled with the success of his Grammy Award winning independent label's (Libertad/Universal Records) Grammy Award-winning/nominated Artists, called for the creation of a company active in as many entertainment industry sectors as possible. During the last four years, Robertson has actively focused on creating PowerHouse Entertainment Group & Section 8 Records, a company with a 360-degree business model involved in recorded music, music and event production, music publishing, artist management, film production/distribution, and merchandising.

PowerHouse’s growth has been more organic than acquisitive and is a destination for artists and artist-run labels. PowerHouse's model differs from most of its competitors because it takes a more holistic "artist development" approach as opposed to merely looking solely at the label's profit center. Section 8 is the imprint which will release the rock/urban/R&B/Hip-Hop and all other non-"Libertad" Latin music releases.
